In our previous post we already know how to install windows 10 and i also recommended that install in the VIRTUAL MACHINE SOFTWARE so just in case if you unsatisfied then you can easily revert back to your original or previous OS that was installed already on primary computer, but if you already happy with windows 10 and want one more OS in your PC then for them today m going to tell you process to install Dual OS along with windows 10, many users face windows 10 dual boot problems so make sure you backup your files and setting before proceeding cos one mistake might cause you loss of your valuable data!!!
So lets begin :
-
First we need some disk space for our new OS for that at least 20gb of disk partition is very important in my last post i told you how to make partition using Mini-tool Partition Wizard tool, with the help of this tool you can shrink or create a individual partition for our “New OS” just in case if you don’t know how to make partition using “Mini-tool Partition Wizard tool” then go here. or else just follow the steps below its not that complicate 😉
-
For creating partition just press window button + R it’ll open with RUN dialog box
-
Type “diskmgmt.msc” and hit ENTER button.
-
It will pop up with disk management window with the drives details with size which you already had in your system.
-
Now here we want to shrink the disk to make space that will allocated to our New OS so just right click on C:drive of mouse and select “Shrink Volume” and insert he number in MB that you wanted to shrink or space want to make available for our “New OS”
-
After hitting “Shrink” button it will show one drive with unallocated without any drive name.
-
Just right click of mouse on that newly created disk space and select “new simple volume” and just click next and next till its ask you “yes” or “no” just hit “yes” that’s it!! your new space is ready to use our “New OS”.
Now once the space is created we have to download legit windows 7 ISO image that will we required to install. nowadays many users including me use USB pen drive to store our stuff and its more handy . so just download windows 7 ISO image and also download the software called “PowerISO” its a tool that we will require to make our USB pen drive eligible to boot and to install our new OS. once you downloaded windows 7 ISO image save that in separate folder and install powerISO software and Connect your USB pen drive and open PowerISO software as “Administrator” .
-
After opening PowerISO go to “tools” select ” Create bootable USB drive” .
-
Window will pop up, allocate the ISO image by clicking “source Image File”.
-
After that select “USB HDD “ from write method and hit “start” at bottom followed by hitting “OK” it’ll start its process that might take some time.
-
Once the process completed exit from PowerISO .
Now we have transferred that windows ISO image into our USB pen drive which we going to use as alternative to DVD bootable. so lets do the boot setting first.
-
Now restart the system and enter in to boot menu (Keep the pen drive connected to PC)
-
Select first boot as “USB-HDD” or “USB” and save the settings and it will restart with windows installation process then just follow the procedure.
-
Before the installation start it will ask for installation option just select “Custom” because “custom:install windows only(advanced)”
-
If we select custom installation that will let us to install the windows in our newly created partition from the above procedure. during the process you’ll be asked the installation location, select the partition we already made from above procedure.
-
after that windows will install smoothly without hassle.
